Connecting new concrete contractors to construction bond agents

A new concrete contractor cannot bid public work without a surety bond. Getting bonded requires paperwork the contractor has never seen and a relationship with a licensed agent. Bond agents pay for clean introductions to contractors who are ready to be bonded.

01The two sides

Demand side. Concrete and masonry contractors registered in the last twelve months. Filed as an LLC or corporation, active in a state where public works require bonded bidders, and generally two to twenty employees.

Supply side. Construction bond agents with active surety appointments (SFAA members and independent agencies). Each new bonded contractor is worth a first-year commission plus renewals. They pay $500 to $1,500 per verified contractor intro with clean paperwork.

02Why they cannot find each other

New contractors do not know they need a bond until they lose their first public bid for lack of one. Then they Google, get overwhelmed by generic quote sites, and often give up.

Bond agents recruit through cold calls and trade associations. Their conversion is low because most contractors they reach are not yet at the size or paperwork readiness where a bond makes sense.

03What Falah does

  1. Pull the contractor list. Concrete and masonry contractors newly registered in the bond agent’s state, filtered by size and business type.
  2. Confirm bond readiness. Verify the contractor has articles of organization, an EIN, at least basic business banking, and is either bidding or planning to bid on work that requires bonding.
  3. Warm the contractor. Reach the owner, explain in plain language what a surety bond is, why they need one, and confirm they want a bonded introduction.
  4. Deliver the introduction. A written intro to the bond agent’s underwriting team with the contractor’s business details, bonding capacity requested, and preferred contact method.
  5. Replace anything invalid. If a delivered contractor turns out to not have the paperwork, or is already bonded, Falah replaces the intro at no extra cost.

04Timeline

Delivery window
60 to 90 days
Introductions
3 to 6 verified introductions

Fee is set per engagement. Depending on the market and the specifics, Falah may charge the demand side, the supply side, or both. The amount and the party paying it are agreed in writing before payment.

What verified means
  • Every counterparty is real, reachable, and a live decision-maker. Never a data row.
  • Willingness is confirmed in a direct conversation before your name is used.
  • Every introduction is warm and personal, with both sides on the thread.
  • Any invalid introduction is replaced at no extra cost. Missed window = full refund.

05What success looks like

The bond agent’s underwriter gets a batch of contractors who already understand what a bond is, have the paperwork, and are actively pursuing bondable work. Conversion runs several times higher than trade-list cold calls. Falah does not participate in commissions or renewals. The introduction fee is the whole compensation.
