A Texas clinic network and a backup wholesaler

The two sides

A Texas community-health network with 60+ clinics and four 340B pharmacies, and an NABP-accredited independent wholesaler.

What happened
01
The network’s primary wholesaler had it on allocation since June, filling about 60% of its ADHD prescriptions. It needed roughly 400 bottles a month from a second source, plus a backup for injectable antibiotics.
02
It required three things of any supplier: VAWD/NABP accreditation, DSCSA compliance with transaction data on every shipment, and separate 340B billing. We checked each against the wholesaler’s own documents and the wholesaler confirmed all of them.
03
The wholesaler’s fee was $12,000 for six to nine qualified pharmacy opportunities over 60–90 days, with this account as the first. The brief went out without the buyer’s name, the invoice followed, the wholesaler paid, and the introduction went out the moment payment cleared.
The lesson

“We don’t have it” is a missing phone call. The shortage is easy to see, the pharmacist is easy to find, and the wholesaler already spends five figures on trade shows to reach him.
